MISSION & VISION
To heal, uplift, and strengthen the culture of Blacks Of the States through education, empowerment and advocacy.
Our vision is to provide resources and support for the establishment of authentic, cohesive, cultural institutions around the globe. These institutions are vital to ensuring Black people have access to goods and services in safe, healthy spaces, free from mental, social, emotional, cultural, physical, and spiritual harm.

OUR IDEOLOGY
The organization originally formed in 2014 under the leadership of Dr. Eletha Thompson, a Black Woman and East Side Buffalo native. Eletha has served the community in many capacities as a social worker, volunteer, educator, activist, and civic worker. She now focuses her career on promoting cultural consciousness, shifting power dynamics, and providing organizational development support to Black-led grassroots organizations and artists.
BOS is dedicated to ensuring that U.S Black culture is rich, celebrated, and healthy. After critical analysis of cultural genocide scholarship and Black liberation political ideology, a framework was created for BOSes to reclaim and celebrate their culture as a form of power.
BOS welcomes collaborations, partnerships, and contributions from anyone committed to the foundation's mission.
