BOS
Pronounced "BOSS"
Acronym: Blacks Of the States
The term BOS was created to represent the unique cultural group, Blacks of the States. As members of a larger Diaspora, U.S. Black identity is often erased, undermined, or misunderstood. By adopting this terminology, the culture is recognized as distinct, rich, and valuable, fostering preservation and empowerment. Any merch, goods, or services under the title of BOS, exist to benefit Black Youth, Families, and Neighborhoods. #BuyBOS #BeABOS #SupportBOS
BOS FOUNDATION AT A GLANCE
The BOS Foundation was originally founded in 2014 in Buffalo, NY to solve problems created by systems of inequality. We serve Black youth, families, and neighborhoods. Our goal is to foster collective power through culture.

ACTIVITIES

THE CORNER STORE PROJECT
Raising Awareness about Unsafe Corner Stores
During the Summer of 2021, BOS conducted participatory action research on the East Side of Buffalo by collecting qualitative data from Black people of all ages regarding their experiences at non-Black owned corner stores. BOS will release this data to the community through various artistic modes with the intention of fostering a movement towards more Black Owned Corner Stores.
